Enerjinin jeopolitiği ve bölgesel güç denklemleriThe geopolitics of energy and regional power equations
The Institute for Geostrategic Studies starts from the premise that energy is, beyond being a technical matter, fundamentally a relationship of power. The Institute examines, within an integrated framework, the geographies where resources are located, the routes that carry those resources, and the forms of political control established over those routes. Four working groups and 26 research desks track energy geopolitics across a broad geography stretching from Asia to Africa.
Enstitünün misyonu, Türkiye'nin enerji ve dış politika kararlarına dayanak oluşturacak bölgesel derinliği üretmektir. Bu amaçla her bölge, güncel gelişmelerin ötesinde tarihsel arka planı, sosyolojik dokusu ve uzun vadeli güç dengeleriyle birlikte ele alınır.
The Institute's mission is to produce the regional depth that will underpin Türkiye's energy and foreign-policy decisions. To this end, each region is examined not only in light of current developments but together with its historical background, sociological fabric, and long-term balance of power.
Enstitü; dış politika ve güvenlik alanında çalışan yurt içi ve yurt dışı araştırma kurumlarıyla, üniversitelerin ilgili bölümleriyle ve bölge ülkelerindeki muadil sivil toplum yapılarıyla ortak çalışmalar yürütür. Saha temaslarına dayalı bilgi üretimi, Enstitünün çalışma biçiminin ayrılmaz parçasıdır.
The Institute conducts joint work with domestic and foreign research institutions active in foreign policy and security, with relevant university departments, and with peer civil-society organizations in the countries of the region. Field-based knowledge production is an integral part of the Institute's way of working.
Enstitü, bölgesel analizlerini uzaktan derlenmiş ikincil kaynaklarla sınırlamaz. Enerji sahasında fiilî tecrübeye sahip uzman kadrosu ve bölge ülkelerinde kurulmuş kurumsal temaslar sayesinde, çoğu analizde ulaşılamayan birincil bilgiye erişebilir.
The Institute does not limit its regional analyses to secondary sources compiled from a distance. Thanks to a staff of experts with hands-on experience in the energy field and institutional contacts established in the countries of the region, it can access primary information that is out of reach for most analyses.
